Shelbyville,KY: Beautiful BC is in a lot of pain Needs Home

Olivia, a pure bred Border Collie that is in the Shelby County Animal
Shelter (aka dog pound). This beautiful girl is very laid back and
has a WONDERFUL disposition. When I first spotted her in the row of
dog kennels she was standing there quietly just slowing wagging her
tail back and forth. When I approached her cage door it was as if
she actually smiled. She was also just as much the angel when we got
her out to take her pictures.

It is believed that Olivia may
be housetrained because she absolutely refuses to poop or pee in her dog
kennel or outdoor run! She literally has to be walked outdoors every
day by a staff member! The staff said that when they go in to clean
her kennel there is NEVER any poop or pee. What a good
girl!!!!

But through all her sweetness, this poor girl is probably
in a lot of pain right now. She was picked up as a stray and it
appears that she might have been hit by a car
.
A vet did look at her
(no x-rays were performed) briefly when he stopped by the shelter and said
that it appears she might have a dislocated hip. Although he
couldn't GUARANTEE it, he doesn't think it is fractured. Can
you imagine the discomfort you would be in if you hip was
dislocated???? KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS A COUNTY OPERATED (OPEN
ADMISSIONS) SHELTER, SO THEY CAN NOT ANY PROVIDE FURTHER VETTING FOR
THIS DOG.

Now, most other county operated kill shelters would have
euthanized Olivia only hours after she was picked up, but because this
shelter tries so hard to find rescues or adopters, they are asking me to
send out a plea for Olivia. Sadly, the ACO sent out a plea for
someone to rescue her last week and no one has responded.
So.....Olivia needs someone to step up quickly to rescue or adopt
her.

This shelter is rescue friendly and does NOT charge reputable
rescue organizations a pull fee. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THE
RECEIVING RESCUE MUST MAKE ALL THE TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS.

It is
estimated that she is young, probably only about 2 or 3 years
old.

Her adoption fee is $65 and includes a $30 voucher to be
applied to her spay surgery at a vet of your choice.

She's impound
#30.

If you can help Olivia, please call the shelter ASAP at
502-633-0009 and ask for James, the ACO. TIME IS OF THE
ESSENCE.

A
foster or adoptive home will save his life. donations are available to
an adoptive home to help with the cost of his vetting.
Please
don't let this cat, who started his life as a kitten at the shelter,
have his life end at the shelter at only 1 1/2 years of age!

I
am neutered, one-year-old, male, domestic shorthair black and white
that came to the North Central Animal Care Center with possibilities of
being blind The doctors do not have proper equipment to determine for
sure if my vision is completely gone (or slightly blind.) Everyone says
that I am very sweet and in need of a good home. I had a possible owner
but they might of forgotten about me. Maybe I will find a home in your heart.

BLACKWOOD, NJ- ALAN, AMPUTEE-Needs a home

There is good news and bad news for our sweet Alan. The bad news is that
Alan's leg is not able to be saved due to severe nerve damage and he will have
to undergo an amputation. The good news is that he is excepted to fully
recover and Alan's special angels are going to lovingly care for him through
it all! There are lots of happy, playful dogs with only three legs and Alan is
going to be one of them! Alan's foster family raves about his wonderful
demeanor and his ability to get along with everyone he meets, even other
critters! This special boy is still searching for his special forever home so
please contact
CamCoShelter@yahoo.com to inquire about Alan!

**Original Posting
- This very sweet hound/terrier mixed breed is Alan. Poor sweet Alan nearly
lost his life and was brought into our Shelter after receiving emergency care.
Alan has a broken leg, severe wounds over a good portion of his body and his
tail was in such bad shape that he has undergone a partial amputation. There
is finally good news for Alan after the sad, sad life this little guy has led
- Some very special angels have come along for Alan and taken him into foster
care. Not only are Alan's angels caring for him, they are even paying for his
medical treatments so the Shelter can continue to treat other injured and sick
animals! Alan has a lot of recovering and healing to do and we think he will
be ready for adoption in about six months. If you are interested in continuing
the wonderful work that Alan's angels are doing for him and give him a forever
home, please preapply!! We hope that Alan's story will continue to shine light
on the cruelty that animals are suffering each day. IF YOU KNOW OF OR SUSPECT
ABUSE, PLEASE DO NOT REMAIN SILENT - THE ANIMALS NEED YOU TO BE THEIR VOICE!!
Alan has been blessed to find his special angels but there are many more like
Alan. Please consider becoming a special angel yourself, either through foster
parenting or donating to our medical fund. It is only through your help that
we can give dogs like Alan a second chance!

He is Redlisted and can be euthanized any minute unless someone comes through asap. He is a very sweet and energetic puppy!

The shelter doesn't know what happened to him because he was already like that when he was found. The pictures don't show it well, but he has a giant scar running across his back, around his shoulder and under his front leg/chest. His has atrophy in one leg, it appears to be shrunken or stunted. But he is a total lovebug nonetheless!

Here's another stunning BLUE and white exquisite, shiny Staffie boy. Georgie is so young and vital, so friendly and full of life and love. The blue Staffies have such wonderful personalities, and they are especially sweet and make great family dogs. He's had no chance to be adopted--he's behind locked doors at the Annex, where no one even sees him, let alone adopts him--please ask for him, it's Georgie's only chance.

GEORGIE - ID#A904188 My name is Georgie and I am an unaltered male, gray and white Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter thinks I am about 4 years old. I have been at the shelter since Sep 28, 2007.

Several of us have taken a "special" intrested in her & truly want her walking (carried) out the FRONT door.

Please do what you can, she deserves a chance.

FOUND: LUBBOCK, TX 2 blind puppies MAYBE LAB/RETRIEVER

CONTACT INFOplease contact me at this e-mail: teateaewe@gmail.com
(mailto:teateaewe@gmail.com) or my cell: 817-980-7843

I am interested in finding a good home for some special needs puppies I
found near my residence this morning. At about 8 am, Tuesday  10/2 I found  two
abandoned puppies behind the 7-11 on 4th st. and Detroit (across from Texas
Tech Police station). Both animals are male and appear to be blind. They look
like Lab retriever/Australian Shepherd mix. Approximate age is between 6-8 wks.
They are very cuddly and I would keep them if I didn't already have my
Penny, a stray pit that wandered into my life a year ago. I am willing  to foster
them until I can find a good home, sending them to a shelter is  not an option
I'd like to use and as was Penny's case they all seem to be pretty  full. I
have posted an add on _petfinder.com._ (http://pedfinder.com/)

Attached are pictures of the puppies. I found one sniffing around a  trash
can and the other sitting amongst some tumbleweed. They appear to have  been
taken care of (healthy looking chubby puppies), I think someone  probably dumped
them because they're blind. My boyfriend shared his dog's puppy  food for them
to eat. I live in an apartment so they stay in Penny's kennel for  now but I
have taken them out several times to potty in the  grass  and I've observed
normal urination and bowel movements. If you  think you might be able to help me
in finding a good, loving home for these cute  puppies (I know they'll grow
up to be smart too), please contact me at this  e-mail: _teateaewe@gmail.com _
(mailto:teateaewe@gmail.com) or my cell: 817-980-7843.

Thanks,

Rebecca Thomason
