NY amputee kitty with no eyelids needs help!

AMPUTEE KITTY NEEDS RESCUE NY

My name is PHILLY.  I am a very special kitten. I am a female, just about one year old. I'm long haired, all black and very loving. When I was brought to the shelter I had something tied so tight around my front leg that it had to be amputated. The vet did an excellent job with the surgery and once the hair grows back you will never be able to tell that I wasn't born this way. I am getting around very well and other wise I am in perfect health. I have already been spayed and vaccinated.  Won't you be that special person to give me a wonderful life?

ST. PATTY: $2000 Needed for Surgery for kitten born without eyelids

Found in the aftermath of our region's treacherous February ice storm, a kind couple delivered St. Patty, a young cat, to FFRV's care in the hopes that we could possibly help save her life. Terribly ill, dehydrated, and stressed, St. Patty required immediate attention, which resulted in the diagnoses of an upper respiratory infection and a deformity of her eyelids.  A follow-up vet exam made the gruesome discovery that St. Patty was born without eyelids.

This very painful congenital condition, called eyelid atresia, causes the fur to constantly rub on the cornea (the highly sensitive covering of the eyeball), leaving the animal in constant excruciating pain and leading them toward eventual blindness. If left uncorrected, most of those affected just keep their eyes closed at all times.

Dr. John Vinciguerra of Tri-County Veterinary Hospital in Pilesgrove Township, NJ insisted that the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (VHUP)s newest treatments were the best option for this kitty.   With the kind assistance of VHUP ophthalmologist Dr. Andras Komaromy, FFRV was offered a generous 50% discount off the two surgeries needed to save St. Patty's sight.  But that still leaves FFRV needing $2000 to help the eight-month- ol d feline.  Surgery is scheduled for May 15, 2007.

Furrever Friends Rescue and Volunteers, Inc. (FFRV) is a small, all-volunteer run nonprofit group that relies solely on donations to help homeless animals.  FFRV does NOT have the funding available for this surgery, and are dependent on help from the public! Donations are sought, no matter how small, in order to compile the entire amount needed to proceed with this very necessary treatment. The sooner the surgery is completed, the sooner St. Patty will be able to see and enjoy her surroundings in comfort.  She will need a forever home after her recovery.  *END*

SOUTH LA CA Della, sweet, petite BLIND Pit Bull at South LA Shelter

Please email yep6cats@aol.com if you are able to help.

"Della". Impound A864907, 3 year female pit bull

The shelter is scary enough for a dog with sight, I can only imagine how terrifying the roar of dogs barking and fighting is to a dog who cannot see. Della has been sitting in a cage in isolation for 20 days, all by herself. She must be so scared, sad and lonely.

Della is adorable inside and out.  SHE IS ALL LOVE. She walked out of her cage when Tomika called her and crawled onto her lap. She rubbed her face all over Tomika and Della had the sweetest, happiest little expression on her face. I would not have known that this dog was blind and wonder if she sees at least shadows.

She does not appear to have been mistreated, she definitely LOVES and seems to trust people. She was caught as a stray--imagine roaming the streets blind!!  She has waited 20 long days, alone in her dark world,  waiting for her person to find her but nobody has come.

She is a very dear little dog and very easy to fall in love with.  I hope somebody can save her. She is sitting in her cage waiting....

NY - EMERGENCY - SERIOUSLY INJURED PUPPY WILL DIE WITHOUT OUR HELP! - PLEASE HELP!

This 5 month old ACD was found, in the woods, near my home, by some "Spring turkey hunters".

They brought her to local dog control.  At that time she could not stand and could barely breathe.  Dog Control took her to the Vet,where hope was all but lost.  The Vet said her chances were, "slim to none".

This baby had what appeared to be a hematoma on her chest and a serious wound on her hind quarters. Her breathing was raspy and labored. She was near DEATH and no hope for her surviving the night was given.  The vet put her on IV fluids and antibiotics, in an INCUBATER, (with oxygen), still, without hope.

However, this morning, she was still alive !! The Vet did some Xrays(without anesthisia,as THAT would have killed her) and found that this baby has two broken ribs,a punctured lung and her stomach is full of gravel and dirt.

We all know that Dog Control(township) "politics"(State mandates) will NOT pay to save this baby girl. However, the Dog Control Officer, that took this baby in, would desperately love to save her life.(but has NO funds to do so)

To IMAGINE what this poor baby has been through in her short life, terrifies even ME!!  The hematoma on her chest, is AIR, escaping out of her punctured lung, into her skin. Vet said he had NEVER seen anything like it.  The wound on her hindquarters is a BITE wound, where "something in the woods" tried to eat her.(thinking she was already dead).....

Right now, after 24 hours, the Vet has HOPE....prognosis is GOOD....for her to heal. BUT...... The local township will NOT pay for the "life-saving" procedures that are needed for this baby to ever "see" a better life than she has had. They would "opt" to have her PTS.

PLEASE HELP ME HELP THIS BABY....
I have a local foster who can take her, once she is able to leave the Vet Hospital..... BUT, until then, she NEEDS $$  for her survival.
